Doon University established IT centre in out source mode and wish exclusive ICT Academy Centre of Women’s Empowerment.

 

As an initiative to empower women and enable them to discover their true potential, ICT Academy in collaboration with the Doon University has set up Centre for Women Empowerment (CoWE) that will provide workshops, seminars and training on advance technologies with a vision to make female student Industry-ready.

The centre aims to empower the students of Doon University with digital skills such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Multi Languages, RPA etc.

The Centre of Women will educate girls in cutting-edge technology, provide global accreditation for tech giants, and promote the employment of accredited students.

As the world transforms with the evolution of the Internet and the increase in virtual work, new technological tools are increasingly being used.

This globally recognized certification program by ICT Academy inhibits an interdisciplinary approach and budding bright students from marginalized sections of the society. Dedicated centres for students demonstrates ICT Academy’s commitment towards women & youth empowerment, with the objective of realizing a diverse and inclusive workforce in the country.

To initiate the event, Dr. Preeti Mishra, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Doon University, addressed the dignitaries and students, welcoming all for this ingenious session. To make this inauguration a success, Dr. Harsh Dobhal, Department of Mass Communication, Doon University, managed the agenda of the event effortlessly.

The training program comprises of hours of learning and opportunities for the students to participate in innumerable hackathons, and youth empowerment summit.

Along with students, a female faculty will also be trained on the advanced technologies to mentor the students. ICT Academy promises to help students find employment.
As a result, they not only develop Industry-ready women, but also help them become financially self-reliant.

Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Vice-chancellor, Doon University, Dehradun, inaugurated the event and said – “The Centre of Women Empowerment (CoWE) has been established to make women skilled and encourage research in Doon University.

The lack of women in skill market Indian statistics. The employment of women in the tech giants and the continuation of their work has always been an issue keeping in terms with how women will manage the high-end jobs along with their family and personal keeps.

We have to empower our students and make a contribution in helping to eradicate the gender-biased digital division.

Dr. Narendra Rawal, Head of Department of Computer Science, Doon University, Dehradun, speaking about this initiative, mentioned “Data Analytics is not only subject to Computer Science but is interdisciplinary.

Data is gold in 21st century. This is the era of data. In our surrounding – everywhere is data in form of picture, text, videos or speech. You have the capability to capture the raw data and process it to make it useful to improve in any organisation.

You can make predictions based on logistics, traffic, health hence can be applied in any discipline. Data analytics is becoming crucial in decision making, Natural Language processing (NLP), management, machine learning and not limited to that.

Hope the course will be helpful for students paving the way for women empowerment. ”
